Nominate a student for an Ontario Medal for Young VolunteersDecember 10, 2013 Category: NewsBack to News Page

Do you know an outstanding young volunteer in your school community? If so, nominate them for the Ontario Medal for Young Volunteers.

The Ontario Medal for Young Volunteers is presented by the Lieutenant Governor to exceptional young volunteers, between the ages of 15 and 24. Nominees must have donated a large amount of time to a charity, not-for-profit organization or a person, and be a role model and inspire other young people to volunteer.

Deadline for nominations is January 15, 2014.

An independent advisory council considers all nominations and selects the recipients. The medals are presented at a special ceremony held at Queen's Park and hosted by the Lieutenant Governor. Each recipient receives a medal, a framed certificate and a lapel pin.

Online or print nomination forms and additional information about the Ontario Medal for Young Volunteers is available on the Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration website at: http://www.citizenship.gov.on.ca/english/citizenship/honours/youngvolunteers.shtml
