The Orillia Learning Centre is beginning their 7th annual Winter Coat Drive, which donates coats to families to help them stay warm through the winter. The coat drive is run in partnership with Fabricare Cleaning Center of Orillia. Donations of gently used coats can be dropped off from October 17 to November 30 during regular business hours at the following locations:

  • Learning Centre, Orillia Campus - 575 West St. S., Unit 15, Orillia
  • Fabricare Cleaning - 36 Front St. S., Orillia
  • Wihlidal Family Chiropractic - 349 West St. N., Orillia

Fabricare will clean the coats prior to distribution. Coats are needed in all sizes (infant, child, teen and adult), but especially small children and large men’s. Please note that fur or leather coats cannot be accepted because of specialized cleaning requirements.

All donated winter coats will be distributed at no charge to Learning Centre students and to Orillia and area residents. Remaining coats will be donated to community resource affiliates.

Coat donors are also asked (if possible) to donate a non-perishable food item at the Orillia Learning Centre location. Food donations will be distributed through Christmas food hampers for students.
