Mental Health & Well-being

Student mental health and well-being

Positive mental health and learning to navigate life’s challenges is something we all want for ourselves, our children, friends, family and those in our community. We all have mental health. Mental health impacts students’ availability for learning and engagement at school and in the classroom, life skills and overall well-being.

At the SCDSB, we are committed to the mental health and well-being of all students. Mental health and well-being promotion, prevention and early intervention is incorporated through curriculum and teaching practices that focus on social-emotional skill building and help-seeking resources, intervention services and classroom environments that are welcoming, inclusive and understanding.
