The Selection Committee is made up of three members: the incoming chairperson, vice-chairperson and one other member elected by the Board. The role of the Selection Committee is to gather trustee preferences regarding committee membership, and make recommendations to the Board of Trustees for approval at the regular Board Meeting in December.

Remarks from the Chairperson
Chairperson Jodi Lloyd delivered the Inaugural Address to the Board. She thanked her fellow trustees and noted the significant changes that we have all had to adapt to since this time last year. Chair Lloyd spoke about the importance of education to our students, their families and our communities, and of mental health and well-being. Chair Lloyd addressed the need to ensure that our schools remain welcoming, supportive and caring places, and to continue to work through the SCDSB’s Strategic Priorities in order to serve our students and their families as we continue to adapt. As a board, we are managing the pandemic and will be focusing on recovering from its impact to ensure we continue to deliver the best educational opportunities to our students now and for the long term.
