Reports/Updates from Staff
Dawn Stephens, Director of Education provided an update on the many celebrations and activities that have occurred this fall. Director Stephens shared that the Education Centre hosted the cross-country Primary Fun Run with over 1,500 student participants. Director Stephens commented on the various community fall fairs and noted that Wasaga Beach Public School held their grand opening celebration. Director Stephens also spoke to the professional development that staff have engaged in this fall. Director Stephens shared that Friday, Oct. 24 will be a Professional Activity Day where staff will engage in Ministry-directed learning centred on anti-Black racism and addressing hate and discrimination, safe and caring schools, and artificial intelligence.

Motion
The Board approved the following motion which was raised as it was germane to the Correspondence report:
- That the SCDSB Board Chair write a letter to the Minister of Education outlining our concerns with Bill 33.
