Students celebrate strength and resilience at INSPIRE 2026 Young Women’s Conference
On March 3, 102 students from secondary schools across the Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) gathered at the SCDSB Education Centre to celebrate the strength and resilience of young women and gender diverse students in our schools at the INSPIRE 2026 Young Women’s Conference. The focus of the day was self-advocacy, self-care, self-confidence, and building community.
Attendees took part in interactive workshops highlighting empowerment, mental health and well-being, the arts, and Indigenous medicines and teachings. They also had the opportunity to experience skilled trades stations ranging from small engines and virtual welding to hairstyling and goldsmithing.
The day was capped off with a keynote address focused on grit, grace, and goals from Sarah Kinlin, a professional speaker, coach, educator, author, wife, mom, and sister who left the corporate world to become an entrepreneur.
This initiative links directly to the SCDSB Strategic Priorities in the areas of Well-being, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and Community.
