Members of the Coldwater PS community will get a glimpse of the past at their Spring School BBQ on June 4 when they open a time capsule that was discovered at the school.
What: Spring School BBQ and time capsule opening
When: June 4, BBQ begins at 4:30 p.m. with capsule reveal at 5 p.m.
Where: Coldwater Public School, 33 Gray St, Coldwater
The time capsule dates back to 1995 and was assembled when the school had a major addition. Students, including current principal Jennifer Viherjoki, who was a Grade 8 student at the school at the time, were asked to contribute to the capsule in the form of writing, artwork, and other representations of the school at the time.
“It’s an honour to be involved in the opening of the time capsule,” said Jennifer Viherjoki, Principal at Coldwater PS. There are so many people who are part of our current school community that contributed items as students. It will be a great full-circle moment for them to see what is inside.”
This initiative links directly to the SCDSB Strategic Priorities in the area of Community.
