All school council members from Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) schools are invited to attend Connections on Oct. 27 at the Education Centre in Midhurst. This orientation event is hosted by the SCDSB’s Parent Involvement Committee (PIC).
Participants will:
- gather resources, share knowledge and learn ways to make their school council more effective
- browse booths from approved vendors
- network with other school councils and PIC representatives
Session topics include:
- promoting diversity and parent/guardian voice
- where to get information
- an overview of school-generated funds
School council members should register online at scdsb.on.ca/connections by Oct. 24.
The event runs from 5 to 8 p.m. The Education Centre is located at 1170 Highway 26 in Midhurst.
The PIC is a county-wide advisory committee made up of parents and community representatives from across Simcoe County. The committee works with SCDSB staff and trustees to support student success through parent engagement. Visit the SCDSB website for more information on the committee.
