COVID update from the SMDHU - March 13

Information for families from the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit
Posted on 03/13/2020
As previously communicated, on March 12 the Premier’s Office announced that all publicly funded schools in Ontario will be closed from March 14 to April 5, 2020, in response to COVID-19.

Today, the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU) issued a letter to parents/guardians with additional requirements for families with children who travel outside of Canada. The SMDHU has indicated that all returning children will be required to self-isolate for a period of 14 days upon return. Details can be found in the letter from the SMDHU attached.

We continue to monitor the situation with regards to COVID-19 and are taking our direction from the local health authority – the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU).

If you have questions or concerns regarding this virus, please contact your health care provider directly or the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit at 1-877-721-7520.
