Information for SCDSB families - June 3, 2021
Posted on 06/03/2021

On June 2, the Ontario government announced that all publicly funded schools in Ontario will remain closed for the duration of the 2020-2021 school year in response to COVID-19. As such, Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) students will continue to participate in remote learning for the remainder of the school year.

Students currently enrolled in the Learn@Home program will continue to attend class virtually, and current arrangements for students in special education classes will continue until the end of the school year.

SCDSB staff are finalizing a plan for students who may need to gather personal belongings from schools. These plans will be communicated on a school-by-school basis through your child’s principal and/or teachers. Plans will follow strict protocols based on direction from the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit, and parents/guardians and staff will be provided with specific directions.

In addition, families will be contacted to arrange for the safe return of borrowed SCDSB technology equipment by the end of June.

Our students, parents/guardians and staff have continued to demonstrate resiliency, flexibility and creativity throughout this school year. We recognize that it has not been easy, and want to remind you of the mental health and well-being resources available on our website.

We continue to plan for the 2021-2022 school year and will provide updates as information becomes available. If you have recently changed your email address, have a new phone number or have moved, please contact the school directly to update your information on file so that we can communicate with you effectively, efficiently and securely.

For ongoing updates and information, please continue to visit the COVID-19 page on our website, or follow us on social media (Twitter: @SCDSB_Schools or Facebook: www.facebook.com/SCDSB).
