Kindergarten is the beginning of a wonderful journey of learning! Do you have a child who is turning four in 2026? If so, it’s time to register for Kindergarten in the Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB)! Children turning four in 2026 can start school this September.
Families can start the registration process on the SCDSB website. When you’ve completed the online form, your child’s school will contact you to finalize the registration. To find out which school your child will attend, use the Home School Locator tool.
Kindergarten in the SCDSB focuses on building daily routines, independence, and meaningful relationships. Dedicated Kindergarten teachers and early childhood educators work together to provide enriched, engaging, and positive learning experiences for all students. Families with children entering Kindergarten in 2026-27 are invited to subscribe to Kindergarten Connections! This monthly enewsletter is filled with tips, key dates, and everything you need to know about starting Kindergarten. To subscribe, visit the Kindergarten page on the SCDSB website.
Details on registration and required documents can be found on the Kindergarten page on the SCDSB website or by calling your local school. Families of students registering for Kindergarten will also be invited to a Kindergarten orientation session at their school in the spring of 2026. These sessions provide families with the opportunity to engage with their school community as their children prepare to enter school.
