Pink Shirt Day 2026

SCDSB schools ‘sprinkled with kindness’ on Pink Shirt Day
Posted on 02/24/2026

Each year, students and staff throughout the Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) observe Pink Shirt Day, a day that promotes anti-bullying awareness and encourages kindness and inclusivity within our schools. This year, Pink Shirt Day is Feb. 25, and the theme is ‘Sprinkle Kindness’, reminding us that kindness grows when it is shared.

Students and staff are encouraged to wear pink and to participate in a variety of school-based activities focused on inclusiveness, respect, and belonging.

The SCDSB recognizes that all members of the school community have the right to be safe and to feel safe in their school community. In the SCDSB, Pink Shirt Day is part of a larger effort to cultivate kindness, address bullying in all its forms, and empower students to support one another.

Recently, the SCDSB shared the results of the School Climate Survey conducted in fall 2025. Eighty-eight per cent of students in Grades 4 to 12 participated in the survey, which showed positive increases in school safety and belonging and engagement at the elementary and secondary levels. The SCDSB will continue to work to provide learning opportunities and activities that support the growth of positive school climates, creating a culture of belonging, engagement, and success for all.

This initiative links directly to the SCDSB Strategic Priorities in the areas of Well-being, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and Community.
