SCDSB parents/guardians invited to learn about cyber security and digital well-being
The Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB)’s Parent Involvement Committee (PIC) is hosting Safe connections: cyber security and digital well-being, a virtual information session for parents/guardians. The session is being held on April 28 at 6 p.m. and will feature presentations on the following topics:
Cyber security
Guest speaker Natalie Fleming will explore cyber security and identity theft, helping parents/guardians and students understand what online risks look like in 2026. Participants will learn what scammers look for, how to maintain a safe digital footprint, and how to recognize signs that a child may be experiencing inappropriate online interactions.
Digital well-being
Guest speaker Ulrica Jobe will focus on building healthy digital habits and a balanced approach to technology use at home. Parents/guardians will learn strategies for setting healthy digital boundaries, talking with their children about online risks, and creating an environment where children can ask for help.
Parents/guardians are encouraged to register by 4 p.m. on April 24. Learn more and register to attend at scdsb.on.ca/connections.
