Report from Student Trustees
Student Trustee Shaw introduced the incoming student trustees for the 2025-26 school year. The incoming student trustees are Maida Perry from Eastview Secondary School, representing the North and East region, Klevin Kim from Bear Creek Secondary School, representing the Central and South region, and Gabriel Carvalho from Banting Memorial High School, representing the South and West region.

Trustee Tribute
Chair Powell presented Doug Mein, volunteer on the SCDSB Accessibility Advisory Committee (AAC), with the Trustee Tribute. Chair Powell noted that Doug Mein joined the AAC in 2011 and has been a dedicated member and advocate for accessibility in SCDSB schools and throughout the province. Chair Powell shared that Doug Mein has been a mentor who has guided the AAC through establishing its direction and addressing accessibility concerns within the SCDSB. Chair Powell thanked Doug Mein for his years of service and wished him well in the future.

Report from the Closed Session of the Board in Committee of the Whole
The Board ratified the following recommendations taken in the closed session meeting of the Committee of the Whole on Wednesday, March 26, 2025:
- That the Board approve the School/System Administrator Eligibility List as set out in Report No. CL-HR-D-1, School/System Administrator Eligibility List – March 2025, dated March 19, 2025.
- That the Board approve the school administrator appointments as set out in Report No. CL-HR-D-2 School Administrator Appointments, dated March 19, 2025.
- That the Board approve the school administrator appointment as set out in Report No. CL-B-2-a School Administrator Appointment, dated March 26, 2025.

Recommended actions outlined in the Board Meeting Reports were approved by the SCDSB Board of Trustees during public session of the regular meeting of the Board.
D-2 Notice of Motion from the Feb. 26, 2025 Board meeting
The Board approved the following motion:
- That the SCDSB board chair send another letter to the Ministry of Children, Community & Social Services, outlining concerns regarding student nutrition programs, specifically asking the Minister to address the concern communicated in our previously sent letter, that new schools are not receiving funding, and that there are schools throughout the province who have spent many years waiting for funding, creating an inequitable situation throughout Ontario schools. The letter should also detail our concerns that funding has not increased to keep up with the rising cost of food, and that schools, while experiencing higher needs, are able to support students less and less due to limited funding. The letter will also include a request that representatives from the SCDSB have the opportunity to meet with the Ministry to discuss the many concerns involved in student nutrition funding.
D-5-a Special Education Advisory Committee Member Appointment
The Board approved the following motion:
- That the Board appoint to the SCDSB SEAC, effective March 27, 2025, Ashish Chaurasia as the SEAC alternate member representing Autism Ontario – Simcoe County, as set out in Report No. D-5-a, Special Education Advisory Committee Member Appointment, dated March 26, 2025.
D-5-b Revisions to Policy 2186 – Director of Education Performance Review and Procedure
The Board recommended further revisions to Policy 2186 - Director of Education Performance Review and Procedure.
D-5-c Revisions to Policy 2190 – Director of Education Job Description
The Board approved the following motion:
- That the Board approve revisions to Policy 2190 – Director of Education Job Description, as set out in APPENDIX B of Report No. D-5-c, Revisions to Policy 2190 – Director of Education Job Description, dated March 26, 2025.
