Trustee Tribute/Presentations
Trustee Foley presented the Trustee Tribute to the Collingwood Collegiate Institute cross-country coaching team. The cross-country coaching team was recognized for their exceptional representation of the SCDSB at OFSAA. Recognized for their contributions were coaching staff Todd Hammond, Jen Geier, and Jordan Cascagnette. Trustee Foley shared that the coaches have supported the growth of the team that now has over 85 students. Trustee Foley highlighted that the Senior Girls’ team rounded out their last season with a fourth consecutive OFSAA podium finish, which included two golds, one silver, and a bronze. Trustee Foley also shared that this season, Alistair W. took home individual gold, leading the Junior Boys’ team to gold, and Colton R. won gold in the Para-ambulatory division. Trustee Foley thanked the coaching staff and congratulated them on their accomplishments.

Motion
- That the SCDSB send a letter to Collingwood council supporting the idea of a safety bubble to be created near our Collingwood schools between school property and future protesters and protests.
The above motion was tabled.
Consent Agenda
The minutes of the December Regular Meeting of the Board were pulled from the consent agenda and were approved as amended. All other recommended actions outlined in the Board Meeting Reports were approved by the SCDSB Board of Trustees during public session of the regular meeting of the Board.
SCDSB Celebrates
Dawn Stephens, Director of Education, provided an update, noting that January has been a month of celebration and preparation. Director Stephens spoke to the planning occurring in preparation for the implementation of the new Kindergarten curriculum. Director Stephens noted her appreciation for the SCDSB Early Years team and acknowledged the extensive work they have done to prepare and support SCDSB Early Years educators, both teachers and designated early childhood educators, for this change in curriculum. Director Stephens highlighted that the Kindergarten curriculum is focused on early reading and number sense and that parents will be provided with details.
