Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) schools are well into the spring season, and that includes elementary and secondary sports!
Recent highlights
On May 6, Junior and Intermediate wrestlers participated in the county wrestling tournament at Rotary Place in Orillia. The tournament marked a milestone in elementary wrestling in the SCDSB, with convenor Juris Ligers running his last event after more than 30 years supporting the sport. At the tournament, Ardagh Bluffs PS pinned the competition and won the overall championship, followed by Warminster ES in second and Rama Central PS in third.

Secondary
In SCDSB secondary schools, student-athletes compete in the Simcoe County Athletic Association (SCAA) during the regular season, and represent the SCDSB and their schools in the Georgian Bay Secondary School Association (GBSSA) and Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) championships. SCDSB student-athletes are looking to finish the year strong at the following GBSSA championships:

From June 1 to 3, Barrie North CI is hosting the Boys’ AAA Rugby OFSAA Championships at the Barrie Community Sports Complex, and on June 9, the 3rd Annual SCDSB Cricket Invitational will be held at Joe Magani Park in Bradford West Gwillimbury.
