On May 14, Georgian Bay District SS, in collaboration with Junior Achievement Canada, is hosting a STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) Night. Student in grades 8 to 12 and their parents/guardians are invited to explore different types of jobs in over 30 career pathways, ranging from accounting, finance, and law to the arts, marketing, and the skilled trades.
Attendees will select five career choice tables to visit and spend 20 minutes at each on a rotating schedule. Each career station will feature giveaways and fun, interactive activities. Representatives from other organizations, including the Community Health Hub, Georgian College, and the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) will be available to share information and answer questions.
The STEAM Night will begin with a BBQ at 5:30 p.m., followed by the career station rotations from 6 to 8 p.m.
Interested families are invited to register and select their five career stations by May 1.
Georgian Bay District SS is located at 925 Hugel Ave. in Midland.
