SCDSB students and parents/guardians invited to participate in student census this spring
The Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) is committed to creating a culture of belonging, engagement, and success for all. As part of this commitment, the SCDSB is conducting the 2024-25 SCDSB Student Census to learn more about the students and families that make up our school communities. Information from the census also helps the board determine how to best utilize resources and plan appropriate programming, learning opportunities, and events.
The SCDSB Student Census will run from May 6 to May 30. Students in Grades 7 to 12 and parents/guardians of students in Kindergarten to Grade 6 will be invited to participate.
The first SCDSB Student Census was conducted in 2020-21. Since then, our communities have grown, and our student population has increased. Conducting a second census will ensure that the SCDSB has current and accurate information about the students we serve.
Students in Grades 7 to 12 will be emailed a secure link inviting them to complete their census. Parents/guardians of children in Kindergarten to Grade 6 will be invited to complete the census on behalf of their child(ren). Parents/guardians of these students will receive an email invitation which includes a secure link to the census. The email used for parents/guardians will be the primary contact email on file at their child’s school.
More information regarding the information sessions and the student census is available on our website at www.scdsb.on.ca/census.
This initiative links directly to the SCDSB Strategic Priorities in the areas of Well-being, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Community, and Excellence in Teaching and Learning.
