Community invited to learn about partnership opportunities with the SCDSB on May 28

The Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) is reaching out to partners and potential partners to share planning information and encourage potential partnerships. On May 28, individuals and organizations from across Simcoe County are invited to a Community Partnership Consultation.

Organizations and individuals attending this meeting will be presented with information about:

  • the SCDSB’s partnership policy
  • the definition of ‘viable partnerships’
  • general site and program characteristics for SCDSB schools
  • the Ministry of Education’s capital funding model
  • decision timelines

School boards are encouraged to reach out to community organizations to share planning information on a regular basis to allow for potential collaboration that serves the best interests of the board, students and the community, while optimizing the use of public assets. It is the policy of the SCDSB that it may enter into facility partnerships when building new schools, undertaking significant renovations, and when considering the use of unused space in schools.

The Community Partnerships Consultation is May 28 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the SCDSB Education Centre, Roy Edwards Room. The Education Centre is located at 1170 Highway 26 in Midhurst.

This initiative links directly to the SCDSB’s Strategic Priorities under the pillar of community.
