SCDSB receives capital funding for expansion at Lake Simcoe Public School
The Ministry of Education announced that the Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) will receive capital funding for an addition at Lake Simcoe Public School. This addition was included on the SCDSB’s list of its top ten capital priorities.
“We are appreciative that we continue to receive funding for additions and new schools within our communities,” says Brian Jeffs, Superintendent of Business and Facility Services. “This is welcome news for an area in the board that is facing significant growth and enrolment pressures.”
The announcement includes an addition of 190 new elementary student spaces to Lake Simcoe Public School, along with two new child care rooms. The estimated construction value is $5.4 million.
