Learn how you can take your school council to the next level at virtual event

School council members from Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) schools are invited to attend Connections 2.0 on March 2. This virtual event, hosted by the SCDSB’s Parent Involvement Committee (PIC), will spark conversations around diversity and inclusion, and engage participants in discussions and idea-sharing sessions.

Join guest speaker Debbie Opoku-Mulder (Speaker/Facilitator, Making Change) for a 40-minute presentation, If nothing changes, nothing changes, followed by a panel discussion on running successful virtual school council meetings and a group session on Parents Reaching Out (PRO) grants and parent/guardian engagement events in the virtual world.

School council members should register online by Feb. 24.

The virtual event runs from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., via Zoom.

The PIC is a county-wide advisory committee made up of parents/guardians and community representatives from across Simcoe County. The committee works with SCDSB staff and trustees to support student success through parent/guardian engagement. Visit www.scdsb.on.ca/elementary/parent/parent_involvement_committee for more information on the committee.
