Elementary school students have opportunity to learn a new language for free with the SCDSB

Children in Grades 1-8 can learn a new language, or preserve their native language, through the Simcoe County District School Board’s (SCDSB) International and Indigenous Languages Program. Offered on Saturday mornings at the Barrie and Bradford Learning Centres, the program includes 2.5 hours of instruction each week, at no cost.

Languages offered are subject to minimum enrolment, and may include Arabic, Dari, Farsi, Korean, Mandarin, Russian, Spanish, Tamil, Ukrainian, Urdu, Vietnamese and Indigenous languages.

The 2018-19 program begins on September 15. More information, including registration information and forms, is available on the Learning Centres’ website.
