$3.5 M raised for Terry Fox Foundation through SCDSB school events

“Anything is possible if you try.”
~ Terry Fox

Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) schools and facilities have raised a total of $3,541,411 to date for the Terry Fox Foundation through school runs, walks and fundraising activities. In the 2017-18 school year, our schools, Learning Centres and the Education Centre raised $211,698.

Terry Fox National School Runs take place during the next two weeks at many SCDSB schools.

“The amount of funds that our students, staff and communities have raised over the years for Terry Fox is truly incredible,” says Steve Blake, Director of Education. “The SCDSB’s unwavering commitment in support of Terry Fox’s quest to eliminate cancer is to be commended.”

Terry Fox often said that it was the youth who would carry forth his efforts and work towards a world without cancer. Millions of students across Canada take part in the Terry Fox School Run every year raising funds for cancer research, making it one of the largest fundraising events in Canadian history.
