Community representatives invited to apply for Parent Involvement Committee

The Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) is seeking up to three community representatives who are interested in serving on the Parent Involvement Committee (PIC).

The purpose of the PIC is to support, encourage and enhance parent/guardian engagement at the board level in order to improve student achievement and well-being. Committee members will:

  • provide information and advice on parent/guardian engagement to the board
  • communicate with and support school councils
  • undertake activities to help parents/guardians support their children’s learning at home and at school
Interested representatives must meet the following qualification criteria:
  • be a Canadian citizen
  • be of the full age of 18 years
  • be a resident within the area of jurisdiction of the board (Simcoe County)
  • be a public school elector
  • not be employed by the SCDSB

Appointed individuals sit on the PIC for a two-year term. Meetings are held the third Tuesday of the month at 6 p.m. at the SCDSB Education Centre, 1170 Hwy 26, Midhurst.
