Labour Updates

In Ontario, we have a two-tier collective bargaining process for school boards and their staff. It involves central (provincial) and local bargaining processes for staff groups, including teachers and support staff.

As of June 2024, the SCDSB has concluded negotiations with all of its union/federation partners and successful contracts have been reached. The next round of provincial and local negotiations can begin at the end of August 2026.

APSSP (attendance counselors, speech and language pathologists, behavioural service coaches, graduation coaches, social workers, psychologists, and applied behaviour analysis coordinators)
CUPE (maintenance workers and custodians)
ETFO Contract Teachers (permanent elementary teachers)
ETFO Designated Early Childhood Educators (DECEs)
ETFO Occasional Teachers (elementary occasional teachers)
OPSEU (educational assistants, secretarial support staff, child and youth workers, and admissions and enrolment, information technology, and some business services staff)
OSSTF Continuing Education Instructors
OSSTF Contract Teachers (permanent secondary teachers)
OSSTF Occasional Teachers (secondary occasional teachers)
