Fundraising, Advertising, Trips, and Presentations

All applications should be submitted at least 30 days prior to the event or program. All requests are reviewed centrally by a team of SCDSB staff. Approved vendors will be added to the SCDSB’s approved vendor list, which is accessible to the schools.

Fundraising and school community events

Vendors interested in offering fundraising opportunities or participating in school community events may complete the Fundraising and Community Events Vendor Application Form.

Advertising in Schools

To advertise in SCDSB schools please complete the advertising request form to begin the application process. The following information is required:

  • Organization name
  • Primary contact (name and email address)
  • Information on the specific program, including a one-to-two-page pdf to use if approved

Approvals are valid for the current school year only and will be shared electronically with administrators at the board level. School administrators have the authority to approve or deny approved requests to advertise in their schools.

NOTE: Advertisements that directly encourage a student to buy a product or service for profit are not permitted. Exceptions may include school fundraising events, as outlined in the school fundraising plan. Advertisements and promotional materials must not endorse a particular religion or belief system. Advertisements for educational services or institutions that compete with the SCDSB's programs or services will not be approved.

Field trips and presentations

Vendors interested in hosting SCDSB students at their venue or presenting at schools may complete the Field Trips and Presentations Application Form.

All field trips and presentations must align with the Ontario Curriculum and SCDSB Strategic Priorities. Applications that include a presentation or speaker must provide comprehensive details about the presentation content.

All SCDSB schools are required to provide at least 14 calendar days’ advance notice to parents/guardians when guest speakers are invited into schools. This notice must include details of any handouts, giveaways, or literature. This practice ensures transparency and accountability to families.
