Banting Colour Run

Annual Colour Run at Banting Memorial HS raises awareness for mental health
Posted on 05/16/2023
On Friday, May 19, students and staff from Banting Memorial HS will add some colour to their day as they participate in the school’s annual Colour Run to support mental health awareness. The event is a five-kilometre fun run or walk, where participants are doused with colourful powder at different points throughout the course.

The Colour Run creates a sense of joy and community amongst participants, while promoting the destigmatization of mental health challenges, encouraging self-care, and highlighting the importance of seeking help when needed. It also promotes the importance of physical activity, social connections, and a positive, uplifting environment in support of mental health and well-being.

The event will run from 12 to 2 p.m. at Banting Memorial HS, located at 203 Victoria St. East in Alliston.

This initiative links directly to the SCDSB Strategic Priorities in the areas of Well-being, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and Community.
