Adult Learning

Our goal at the Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) is to provide adult learners of all ages and abilities with a range of opportunities to discover new knowledge, develop new skills and to achieve personal learning goals.

The seven Learning Centres located throughout Simcoe County enable individuals to grow personally, academically, and professionally.


The Learning Centres offer:
  •  Ontario Secondary School Diploma, (Gr. 12 diploma)

  •  Literacy and Essential Skills upgrading (LES)

  •  College and university prerequisites

  •  English as a Second Language (ESL) classes 

  •  Summer School and Night School 

  •  Personal Support Worker (PSW) course

  • Prior Learning Assessment & Recognition (PLAR)

Learning Centres teachers and staff are dedicated and experienced professionals who work with you to achieve success. The Learning Centres offer customized classes and flexible learning and teaching environments that are geared to the needs of the adult learner.

Career Centre

 

The Career Centre, a department within adult and continuing education, is pleased to be part of the Network of Employment Ontario Service Providers funded by the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development. The Career Centre delivers various employment services and programs including:

  • Employment Services 

  • Canada Ontario Job Grant
