New east Alliston elementary school, Alliston Union PS, Cookstown Central PS and Ernest Cumberland ES

This AAR was required to establish new attendance boundaries as a result of the new school's opening. It also addressed the location of the French program and the modified school year calendar.

Angus Morrison ES and Pine River ES

This AAR was intended to balance enrolment between Angus Morrison ES and Pine River ES and help minimize the growth of the student population at Angus Morrison that is occurring as a result of new residential developments.

New Alcona south public school  

The Ministry of Education approved funding for the new Alcona south elementary school that was approved in the 2013 Capital Plan. This AAR established an attendance area for the new elementary school and helped address accommodation pressures. It included Alcona Glen Elementary School, Goodfellow Public School, Innisfil Central Public School and Sunnybrae Public School.

Barrie Secondary Schools 

The board approved that an AAR be undertaken that included the five Barrie secondary schools. The AAR took place because of the closure of Barrie Central Collegiate Institute in June 2016 and to determine the attendance area for the new secondary school that is being built in south Barrie. New attendance areas will help to balance enrolment at secondary schools in Barrie.

Tay Elementary Schools

The board approved that an Attendance Area Review for Port McNicoll Public School, Victoria Harbour Elementary School and Waubaushene Elementary School in January 2014.  The review addressed the consolidation of the three schools.

Southeast Barrie Elementary

The board approved that an Attendance Area Review be initiated for Algonquin Ridge Elementary School, Assikinack Public School, Hewitt’s Creek Public School, Sunnybrae Public School, Warnica Public School and Willow Landing Elementary School in June 2014. The review addressed current and future French Immersion and Extended French as a Second Language accommodation pressures at Warnica Public School.

Alliston Union and Cookstown Central Public Schools

The board approved an Attendance Area Review for Alliston Union Public School and Cookstown Public School in January 2014. The review was intended to address future accommodation pressures. The review was put on hold when the need for a new east Alliston elementary school was identified.

Barrie North Collegiate Institute and Elmvale District High School

This AAR examined a proposed attendance area change that would eliminate the option of attending Barrie North Collegiate Institute or Elmvale District High School for students residing in the Minesing Central Public School attendance area.

New Bradford public school and Fieldcrest Elementary School

This AAR was intended to establish new attendance areas for Fieldcrest Elementary School and the new southwest Bradford public school.

Hewitts Creek and Hyde Park Public Schools

This AAR established an attendance area for the new Innishore south public school (Hyde Park) and addressed accommodation pressures at Hewitt's Creek Public School.

This AAR was undertaken to address program issues related to declining enrolment, align elementary feeder schools with secondary attendance areas and create an attendance area for the new Orillia Secondary school.

Hillcrest Public School and Portage View Public School

A program review was conducted to balance student enrolment and to minimize impacts on home school student populations.

A program review was conducted to balance student enrolment and to minimize impacts on home school student populations.

Bradford Public School and W.H Day Elementary School

A program review was approved by the Board in 2015 to balance student enrolment and to minimize impacts on home school student populations. The review was going to examine a twinned French as a Second Language (FSL) program, with students in French Immersion in Grades 1-4 attending at the former Bradford Public School site and students in FSL in Grades 5-8 remaining at the existing W.H Day Elementary School site. In order to ensure consideration of the long-term needs of the broader Bradford community, the SCDSB recommended no changes to the French program at W.H. Day at this time.
