This fall, Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) students and staff will continue their support for the Terry Fox Foundation by ‘trying like Terry’ and participating in school run, walk, or wheel events and other activities.
SCDSB schools raised over $250,000 as part of the 2022 Terry Fox School Run, putting the board’s fundraising total for the Terry Fox Foundation over $4.5 million.
“The SCDSB has come together in support of the Terry Fox Foundation and the quest to conquer cancer for decades,” says John Dance, Director of Education. “I am incredibly proud of our students and staff for their commitment to this important cause, and for surpassing such a significant fundraising milestone.”
Terry Fox wanted to set an example that would never be forgotten. Millions of students across Canada have taken part in the Terry Fox School Run every year to raise funds for cancer research, making it one of the largest fundraising events in Canadian history. For more information, visit
